Beauty Box 5 review (November)

Beauty Box 5 has provided me with a complimentary subscription for review purposes. All opinions in this post are my own.

I have a new subscription box to tell you about, it’s called Beauty Box 5 and I kind of love it.

I’m going to go ahead and admit that I already like Beauty Box 5 better than Birchbox – for one simple reason. And that is I have already used EVERYTHING in this box. That isn’t always the case with my Birchbox subscription. BB5 hit this first box out of the water.

Birchbox is great and I have certainly enjoyed getting my surprises each month, but I think Beauty Box 5 fits more into my busy lifestyle. So here is what I got in my first box:

1.) Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion – I already use this lotion, so I was thrilled to receive more of it in this box. The lotion leaves my hands feeling incredibly soft and moisturized, which is so important as the winter months approach. I like to keep a bottle of lotion in multiple places (my work desk, my nightstand, my car, my purse, my travel bag) so I always have some should my hands start to feel dry or tight.

2.) Model Co Illusion Lip Pencil – I do have to say that I learned about Model Co from Birchbox (so maybe they just got a few points back on their side). This is a nude lip pencil that keeps my lips soft all day. I like that it is nude, because it helps tone down my lipsticks if I think they are too red. I haven’t used it to create a plumping pout yet (the intended use), but maybe soon.

3.) Swissco Glitter Toe Separators – I don’t often use toe separators when applying toenail polish, but these cute glitter ones certainly made me rethink that choice. The glitter just makes anything fun. Toe separators are great, especially if you have toes that don’t separate. I actually have toes that separate really far. I didn’t realize this was such a rarity until Baby K showcased the same skill and people went crazy; everyone was shocked how far apart she could spread her toes. So these toe separators might make a great gift for someone, especially the glitter – that screams holidays!

4.) La Fresh Travel Lite Facial Cleansing Wipes – I have quite the weakness for cleansing wipes. They just make washing your face so much easier. Being a total neat freak, I love these because you don’t splash water all over the sink when washing your face. J (I’m crazy – its true) And this brand is terrific, the wipes have a great scent to them and I felt like they really removed everything from my face. I highly recommend these!

5.) Nubar Alter Ego Nail Lacquer in Blondie – All I can say about this is love it! And just like the toe separators, the glitter in this polish will definitely make the holidays brighter. I love this polish because I can wear it alone, or layer it over a color. So I will get a ton of uses out of it.

So there you go, my first Beauty Box 5 was a good one. Beauty Box 5 is a beauty subscription service that sends a box with five different beauty samples to your mailbox each month for just $12.

If you are curious about these subscription boxes, let me just tell you a few things. If you like receiving mail (who doesn’t?) and if you love surprises, a subscription box is for you. There are a ton of beauty product boxes out there, but there are also subscription boxes for other things too (like paper products, clothing, nail polish, men’s items, etc). For most boxes you can either pay per month and get a box when you want a surprise or sign up for a recurring subscription that delivers something to your door each month. These boxes also make great gifts and with Christmas just around the corner, it might be worth it to purchase a box for the beauty obsessed lady in your life. I know she will love it. And I HIGHLY recommend you purchase her a Beauty Box 5.

  2. I'm thinking about checking out this subscription in the near future. :) I've tried Ipsy and Birchbox in the past but wasn't that satisfied so I cancelled them. BB5 looks pretty good though.. the nail polish is awesome!
