Greeting Card Organization

Monday, January 14, 2013

I have another easy organization project for you that comes straight from my mother! She often has some great storage ideas that I immediately want to copy and try in my home. One of those ideas was a handy and organized storage option for greeting cards.

I know some people often have random greeting cards for every holiday of the year just lying around in their office, in a shoe box, stuffed in a drawer, etc. And for some people when it’s time to send a thank you card or a birthday card you spend quite a lot of time trying to locate the card that you know you bought last week, but don’t remember where you put it.

Well here is the perfect option. Just buy a small plastic tub and insert labeled tabs.

We bought some heavy duty paper (card stock would work) and printed different category labels and then cut the tabs to fit the container.

Simple as that!

My categories include:
Happy Birthday
Thinking of You
Happy Anniversary
Get Well
Sympathy
Holidays
Thank You
Miscellaneous

Why I love it:
1.) Separated by category
2.) Gives me a reason to stock up on cards to have whenever I need them
3.) Easy to find what I need

So there you have it! Such a simple project that anyone can do. Just run down to Target, grab a plastic tub and get started organizing those cards. You know you want to.

  1. Great tips! I organize mine in a similar way, now I want to tweak it, your system is perfect!

  2. I love the idea. Currently mine are "organized" in the top to a paper box. :( I'm thinking I need to expand.
