Holiday Cards with Basic Invite
Thank you to Basic Invite for sponsoring this post. All opinions included are completely my own.
Hands down, one of my favorite things about the Christmas Season is sending and receiving greeting photo cards. I absolutely love to see how families have grown and it always warms my heart to see the smiling faces of so many people that I love. It is also fun for me to look back through the cards that I send out each year and see how my own family has grown and changed.
Greeting cards are so incredible nowadays with limitless customizable options for you. Websites make it easy for you to personalize your holiday cards with your own unique style and preferences. This year, we decided to trust our prized Christmas cards to Basic Invite and we are so pleased. We've used Basic Invite in the past for thank you notes, so I already knew how fabulous the products would be.
One of my favorite things about Basic Invite is that they have almost unlimited color options for you to choose from. To any men reading this, you might not even realize that there are 180 different color options in the world, but all the women know what I'm talking about! When selecting your cards, you can choose from 180 color choices to make the card exactly how you prefer. Once you select your design, you can change the color of each element (down to the smallest detail). I prefer more of a crimson color instead of a bright red, so I chose the color Cardinal to use on our Christmas cards. It was very helpful that each color sample was large enough for me to see the difference in each color. Another great custom feature is that Basic Invite offers over 40 different colors of envelopes. In addition to all of the color options, they have tons of design options to choose from. I really like their vintage Christmas cards selection. Basically your options are endless when creating cards and invitations.
Basic Invite is a mother's best friend during the holidays for many reasons.
1.) The first is the most important - all of their envelopes are peel and seal so you don't have to lick a single one! And because of the seal, you know that all of your envelopes are securely closed. I've spent way too many years licking envelopes and getting a rather unpleasant taste in my mouth. You don't have to worry about that with Basic Invite. Plus, the peel and seal saves you time!!!!
2.) They offer an address capturing service. You can share a link on any of your social media sites and request that your friends and family give you their address to be stored in your Basic Invite account. This is so helpful! Also Basic Invite offers recipient address printing at no cost on all Christmas card orders (another time saver). You can customize the fonts of your address printing as well.
3.) You can have your cards mailed out for you! Short on time? Select this option and have the cards delivered to your friends and family without having to worry about stuffing envelopes yourself. And don't worry, you will still be able to see what your cards look like because they also offer custom samples. You can order a printed sample so you know exactly how the cards will look and feel.
4.) Return address printing is also included. No need to worry about ordering return address labels separately, you can have your return address printed directly onto each envelope at no additional cost. We really liked this feature because we recently moved and I was able to customize our return address to let everyone know we have a brand new one.
I love Basic Invite for the quality of their cards, the almost limitless customization options and the ease of using their website. As a busy mom, I'm often short on time and Basic Invite helped me save time because the ordering process is so simple.
Now through the holiday season you can save 30% your order when you use coupon code holi30. Want to save even more money? Check out this link to see their cheap holiday cards to really save some dough.
And once the holidays are over, for goodness sake, please don't throw away all of those precious cards from your friends and family. Check out this blog post I wrote last year about how I save all of the cards we receive and enjoy them year round!
Thank you to Basic Invite for also including a little bonus for me with my order. They printed an ornament with a photo of the kids for me to keep. I immediately hung it on my upstairs formal tree because the colors matched perfectly! How did they know I had a white, black and gold Christmas tree? :)

Custom Invitations and Stationery
One of my most favorite things to send and receive is snail mail. It's always been a joy for me ever since I was little to open the mailbox and see something pretty inside, waiting on me to open it. Whenever it is time for me to send our annual holiday card or thank you cards, I always love looking through all of the designs that are offered. Designers in today's world are so talented and create some pretty amazing work. Which is why I'm thrilled to introduce you all to an incredible online stationery store,
Basic Invite.
Their name might say basic, but I promise you that the designs offered on Basic Invite are anything but. Stunning is the word that comes to mind, because their designs are breathtaking. There are numerous reasons to fall in love with them, but their design offerings top the list. You can pick from photo designs, non photos, foil, real wood (yes you read that right), black tie, the options are endless. And so are the colors; with over 180 color options you can truly customize any invitation, card or piece of stationery and it will be uniquely yours. You get an instant preview online every time you make a selection.

Giving Valentines
Do you remember handing out Valentines to your classmates and friends on Valentine's Day? It was one of my favorite holiday traditions during the school year. I loved decorating a mailbox to have at my desk and I loved watching it fill up with fun Valentines and candy from all of my friends.
Even though Baby K is not in school and still quite young, I love introducing her to all things holiday, all the time. In fact last year, when she was only 7 1/2 months, we sent out Valentines to her friends and family. It is just so fun to do, plus snail mail always puts a smile on my face and it is my hope that we can do the same for others. Who doesn't love getting a Valentine from a sweet, little, sassy girl anyway? Minted has some awesome Classroom Valentines that you can use to give out to friends and classmates in person. Their selection is incredible and I love that you can personalize them by adding a picture. Check out this cute little Valentine I created of Baby K on Minted. I used the Sweet Nothings Valentine's card...super cute.
In a rare turn of events, I had a ton of friends give birth to little ones from September thru December. And it impressed the heck out of me that so many of them still sent out cards for Christmas (y'all are my heroes!). BUT here is an idea...If you weren't able to send out Christmas cards because you had a baby or you moved or you just plain ran out of time - then send a Valentine's Day card! Minted has so many full size options too. Good luck deciding on a design, they have so many good ones I just couldn't decide which one I liked best. I want all the cards!
But here are some of my favorites

And as a special early Valentine's Day treat, Minted is offering 20% off all foil pressed Valentine's Day cards and Classroom Valentines cards. So hurry up and order - the deal is only good through Monday!!!

Fall Decorations and Invitations
October is officially in full swing, which means it REALLY is fall!
Fall has quickly become my favorite season for oh so many reasons; the pretty colors, the pumpkin everything, the cool air, the fab clothes, the many festivals...everything really. Tolar LOVES Halloween and I am the first to admit that I really could do a better job at helping him celebrate. I just despise being scared, so I haven't always gotten into Halloween. However, the decor options for Halloween and fall are pretty stupendous so I'm jumping on board this October for sure!
I know I have talked about my love for Minted and their amazing stationery on here before, but did you know that they have decorations???
And when I say they have decorations, I mean they have everything I want to decorate for a fall party. Seriously, I'm buying all the things! From personalized bunting banners (I can add Baby K's face to it!), to table signs and wine glass tags, Minted has everything I need to create an awesome food table for a Halloween party.
To really get the party started, you need invitations. And Minted has pulled out all of the stops with their designs for the season. Sometimes I can be clever, other times I fail miserably. So why waste my energy trying to come up with the perfect Halloween themed invitation when Minted has done it for me. All of their invitations are customizable, so you can always get what you want. Below are some of my favorite ones that they have.
Eat, Drink, Be Scary
Skull and Crossware
Chilling Chalk
And it would just be silly of me to keep this little tidbit of information to myself...Minted offers a free service where they print the recipient's address on the envelope for you! As a busy mom with tons to do, having someone address the envelopes for me is definitely a service I need. This way I can spend my evenings doing things I really want to do (like watching Once Upon A Time) instead of having to write out everyone's address. And since the service is free, its a no brainer.
To help you get your Halloween or fall themed party off on the right foot, the fabulous people over at Minted are giving away something incredible to TWO lucky Pursuit of Pink readers.
Two people are both going to win a $100 credit to Minted, just by entering below. That's crazy and super generous of Minted. So get to entering!!!!

Personalized Stationery for the Win!
In a rare turn of events yesterday, I found myself with a free afternoon. Tolar was in class, my morning to do list was finished and nothing else was on the horizon. So I loaded up Baby K and headed to Target and Barnes & Noble to do a little browsing.
While in Barnes & Noble, it was almost like I was transported into another time - into a time where I had limitless hours to read whatever I wanted. I found myself walking up and down the aisles checking out book after book, reading the backs and getting excited about cracking open a new novel. Even though I was pushing my sweet (and quiet) babe in her stroller, I completely forgot that my current life rarely involves time for reading. I even found myself placing a few books in my cart to purchase, forgetting that I had at least 15 books at home just waiting for me to read. I snapped back into reality and ended up only purchasing the book I came to buy (as a gift for someone) and went along my merry way. Side note: I think that is the first time I have ever used the phrase "my merry way," I was transported into another time for sure!
Since my child was in such a good mood, I figured I would hop over to Target and look for some new stationary. I love sending snail mail to people and needed some new blank cards to have on hand. Well, my sweet little angel quickly became someone else's child while in Target because she was NOT enjoying our Target trip like I was. All of my dreams of finding the perfect stationary vanished and I quickly put the items that were in my cart back on their shelves and made a bee line for the front door.
Fast forward to a few hours later after Baby K has calmed down and returned to her normal self, I decided to go check out Minted.com and see if they had any stationery that would suit my needs. Online shopping was seriously invented for mothers with young children. Thank you Jesus for shopping from the privacy of my own home! Baby K can scream as much as she wants, I'm getting my stationery! And my friends are getting beautiful notes in the mail!!!
Minted has some outrageously amazing designs for really any event you could ever want. I could spend hours on the site and find something for every occasion. And I found just what I was looking for - these beautiful Hello Friend Foil-Pressed notes that can be personalized. As a Southern girl, I'm all about monograms and personalization (amiright?). And the design is terrific; I love the simplicity of the design coupled with the shine from the foil.
Because online shopping is so amazing, I had plenty of time to browse lots of other designs too. Here are some other stationary options that I really liked.
It was so hard for me to choose, because they are all so beautiful. I will absolutely be ordering some more foil-pressed stationery in the future. One thing that I love about Minted, is that the quality is amazing. This stationery is printed on luxurious and sturdy paper and with such pretty designs, I know that my friends will be receiving some super stylish notes. Now the trick is to match my writing style to the beautiful stationery.

First Birthday Thanks plus a giveaway
Baby K's first birthday was Lady Bug themed, based off of a nickname that we gave her when I first found out I was pregnant with a girl. My maiden name is Mady which is often pronounced incorrectly, so to get people to pronounce it correctly I always said that Mady sounded like Lady but with an M. I had some friends start calling me Lady Mady shortly thereafter and the nickname stuck (sidenote: I mourned the loss of Lady Mady when I got married). Once we found out that I was pregnant with Baby K, we started calling her our Little Lady Mady Bug and fell in love with anything Lady Bug for her. So her first birthday theme was decided long before we even planned her party.
While planning her party, I wanted to be certain and keep the Lady Bug theme all through out. We included a lady bug on the evite, had lots of lady bug and lady bug inspired decor at the party and my sister even found a precious little lady bug dress for her to wear. But I didn't want the theme to stop there - I also wanted her thank you cards to include the theme. So what's a Mom to do? Check out Minted and all of the fantastic thank you cards designed for kids.
Let me tell you, Minted has some amazing items for those who love paper products and photos! From wedding products, to party invitations, to Christmas cards, to birth announcements, to art prints, Minted has you covered. So that's why I didn't look anywhere else but Minted to locate the perfect thank you cards for Baby K's first birthday.
I started by looking through all of the children's thank you cards just to see what was available and there were so many designs that I loved, it was actually kind of hard to choose. But it was love at first sight, when I located the "Love At First Bite" Children's Birthday party thank you cards.
I like pretty clean and classic designs and it is no secret that I'm a huge fan of polka dots. So when I laid my eyes on this design, I knew I had to order the thank you cards. And let me tell you, they do not disappoint in person; the coloring looks exactly the same in person as it does on my computer screen. It always irritates me when I order something thinking it is going to be one color because of the way it looks online only to have it delivered and realize it looks completely different in person. I'm so thankful that Minted delivered to the fullest potential.
Another great reason to check out Minted and their great selection of products is for the quality. They print their products on thick card stock instead of cheap thin paper. You don't have to worry about your pen ink bleeding through or accidentally ripping the card because the paper is so thin. Minted has great products, I've never been disappointed with anything I have ordered. I will keep going back for more anytime I need an invitation, thank you card or announcement. And you can customize the products to fit your family. I added Baby K's name to these thank you cards, aren't they just adorable???
And to help you fall in love with their products, the generous folks at Minted are giving one lucky Pursuit of Pink reader a $100 credit! That is such an amazing prize, just think of all of the amazing products that you can get with $100. Thanks Minted - that is seriously one sweet gift! All you have to do to enter is click this link to hop over to Minted's website and enter the Giveaway - so easy!!! Best of luck!!!

Dressing Up Your Snail Mail
Being a Southern lady, I firmly believe in sending a thank you note whenever anyone blesses you with a gift or does something nice for you. And I mean a hand written thank you note. Does anyone else get excited about receiving snail mail, or is that just me? Well, the snail mail that doesn't include junk or bills that is.
Sometimes a letter needs a little dressing up, to give it that extra punch and let the receiver know that you were really thinking of them and took time to put some extra care into their mail. And I have found the perfect Etsy shop to help you out. Check out Paper Plane. The super fantastic Niquelle has created her own one-woman shop full of adorable and quirky cards and oh so cool stamps.
Niquelle dreams up everything you see in her shop and makes it all in house. She comes up with the witty words and designs for her cards, carves her stamps, cuts the paper, prints the cards and makes all the envelopes. Its incredible and I am so excited to introduce her shop to you all. Because she does everything herself, you know that you are getting a quality product. She takes the time to inspect everything and make sure it is to your liking. You can view all of her cool products by clicking on this link to get to her Etsy shop.
Niquelle sent me this awesome initial stamp for me to use with all of my mail and I absolutely love it! I love being able to add an extra personal touch on the outside of the envelope. The stamp added some extra flair to a plain white envelope. And be sure to check out her other stamp offerings - I'm in love with this snail mail stamp. It seriously is so cute. The stamp she sent me is GREAT quality, I know it will last me for a long time and I am just so amazed that she carved it all by hand. That makes ME feel special. So I certainly hope the receivers of my letters feel special too.
And Paper Plane is a green company! All of the paper is recycled and FSC certified from a company that utilies renewable energy. Niquelle reuses her scraps for business cards as well as small note pads for new sketches and testing stamps. My New Favorite Card Store
Has anyone ever heard of CardStore.com? I have to say, its my new favorite place to order our Christmas cards and I am sure I will be using them for other purchases as well.
Tolar and I love sending personalized Christmas cards/pictures each year and recently discovered the "year in review" cards that are available on a few sites. We love this option because its a simple way to tell your loved ones the latest news with you in a cute and clever way. Plus it saves me time writing a huge letter and trying to remember everything that happened in the year.
During our search for our Christmas card this year, we happened upon CardStore.com on Cyber Monday. I honestly didn't even realize it was Cyber Monday when we were looking, but I am extremely happy it was! They were having an incredible deal on their cards and one of their options just happened to be a year in review card. We were hooked! So around 10 p.m. on Cyber Monday we decided to order our cards. The only problem, a lot of other people were also trying to score the Cyber Monday deal and the site was really slow. We couldn't even upload our adorable photo of Baby K; the site just kept loading.
I sat there for a long time just waiting on everything to work and watched the clock creep closer and closer to midnight, when the Cyber Monday deal would be over. The cuteness of the cards had me hooked, but the amazing price made me crazy. I DID NOT want to miss this deal. So in an attempt to get some last minute help, I logged onto to CardStore.com's facebook page and saw that a lot of other people were having the same problem (everyone wanted that deal!). And the coolest thing about it, CardStore was responding to each and every comment about the site not working. So I entered in our problem and immediately got a response telling us to e-mail them our info and someone would contact us the next day. And they stuck to their word! They contacted us, apologized for the site malfunction and sent us a coupon code allowing us to cash in their Cyber Monday deal even after the day was over! Talk about amazing customer service!!! I was so impressed with their prompt social media response and completely amazed that they actually contacted us the next day like they said they would.
We saved a TON of money by scoring their Cyber Monday deal, in fact we ordered more cards this year and maybe only spent about 1/3 of what we spent last year. There was even an option to have our return address printed on the envelopes for free! That saved me a step - super score!
And the quality - one word, AMAZING! I love the paper that was used, very thick and sleek. The colors were great, very true to what I saw on my computer screen. I am extremely happy with our final product and know that I will absolutely be using CardStore again. Just go check out their site, there are so many cute products, I know you will love it too.
Please note, CardStore has no clue I am writing this post. These opinions are completely my own, they are just an amazing company that deserves to have their praises blasted all over the internet!
