Two Tips Tuesday

Tuesday, January 29, 2013

I’m back with my new weekly post, Two Tips Tuesday. Here I will offer up two tips each week on a variety of subjects, hoping that you will find them just as useful as I do.

Tip #1:
SheReadsTruth

You must check out She Reads Truth (if you are a lady that is).  This is a great community of women all reading through the Bible together. Every couple of weeks, they concentrate on a specific Bible reading plan and devote each new day on their blog to talking about that day’s reading. I have found so much encouragement from the forum and I’ve also been inspired to go deeper into God’s word. Currently we are reading through the Soul Detox plan on YouVersion and it is life changing. The teachings of the Bible talk about ways to get the toxic thoughts out of our head and put our focus back on God.

Tip # 2:
Let your foundation dry before applying your pressed or loose powder. This is especially important so you don’t end up looking like you have dirt on your face. If your foundation doesn’t dry completely, your powder could appear darker in some places which is so not flattering. If for some reason you do get “dirty” streaks across your face, just take a tissue and rub the darker part away. Or you could just follow the tip and let your foundation dry. J

  2. Lindsay! I am curious how you organize the various cosmetic and toiletry items that you have. I have a TON of them and my bathroom drawers are always chaotic and hard to sort through (and I'm a fairly organized person). Also --- what do you do with the free samples of things that you get that don't work out for you?

    1. Hey Vanessa, Great idea for a post, perhaps I will include how I organize everything once my master bathroom is complete. Great thought.
Also, for the free samples that don't work for me, I save them for my guests and place them on a little tray in my guest bedroom.

    2. I love that idea for free samples I don't care for - I usually let mine collect in my bathroom in a drawer and go to waste.

  5. My tip is to focus on yourself first before any others and only follow what you want in life.

Bathroom/Makeup organization, easy throw out all make up every 6 months and only replace what you must use daily. I never use foundation or powders as my skin is great (thanks Mom) and that makes it easy to organize as I use little compared to women that use a lot on their faces. I use a lucite make up organizer I got at the container store and nothing else so its always in order and never messy. I never buy more then I can use. One mascare, one set of shadows and one set of eyelines with one blush Easy!

  6. You're so right about the foundation. I've noticed that if I put on my tinted moisturizer and do the rest of my makeup before dusting with powder, the finish is better!
