One Shirt, Two Ways (Day One)

Monday, September 10, 2012

I truly believe the secret to maximizing your wardrobe is to fill your closet with lots of wardrobe basics and neutrals and then add accessories plus a few “on trend” items. One wardrobe basic that will never go out of style is a black top. For someone who loves pink, my closet is chock full of grey and black (as you found out in my About Me section), so I love to dress up my neutrals with some fun pieces.

I started with this black ¾ sleeve length sweater and styled it two different ways. Today you will see one way, tomorrow I’ll show you another look. We all know this isn’t rocket science, but I definitely get asked questions about accessories and putting pieces together, so I decided to show my lovely readers how I pull outfits together. These two ways are only the beginning; with neutrals the options are endless.

Everyone can do this look, take jeans and a black sweater and give it a little something by adding a scarf, some peep toe shoes and some awesome accessories. Simple enough, right? I love scarves (I might even have a rather large collection), I think scarves are like a pair of heels – they totally dress up an outfit and make you feel more put together.
