I'm Back! - Resolutions from a Mom

Thursday, January 5, 2017

Well hello there lovelies!!! I'm so happy to be back to blogging.

Being completely transparent, I didn't exactly plan on taking a nine month hiatus from blogging, but somehow it happened. Life happened. And I enjoyed the MUCH needed break.
During the month of December I kept feeling a prompting from God that I needed to pick blogging back up. I saw sign after sign that I wasn't finished with my little piece of the internet and I'm thrilled to say Pursuit of Pink is back in action!

Pursuit of Pink has always existed to be a place of happiness and positivity in a world with so much sadness. I believe that the world needs more smiles, more rainbows, more butterflies. This is a place with zero judgement, a place full of joy and a place to find encouragement (because Mommin' Ain't Easy). None of that will ever change!

To kick off the re-launch of Pursuit of Pink and 2017, I thought I would share some of my resolutions and goals for the upcoming year.

4 New Year's Resolutions from a Mom

1.) Write down something good every day in 2017.
I wish I had thought of this myself, because it is genius. But instead the insanely funny, talented and amazing Kristina Kuzmic gave me the idea.
Too often we as humans allow our immediate circumstances to control our emotions. If you have a day where mostly everything goes wrong, it is highly likely that you will go to bed thinking what a bad day you had. But the truth is - we are BLESSED. There is ALWAYS something to be thankful for. We as Americans are rich in so many ways and we need to shift our focus to thankfulness.

Every single night (I hope!) in 2017, I plan to write down one good thing that happened that day. I'm so hopeful that JOY will overtake my life. I'm praying for an overflow of joy so I can pour out love onto others.

2.) Compliment at least one person a day.
The world needs to smile more. The world needs to love more. I hope to add a little bit more happiness by complimenting people I see in my daily life - friends or strangers, it does not matter. I'm not saying that by complimenting people I'm going to save the world, but I certainly hope that through me others will have a little bit more hope.

3.) Try to continue Random Acts of Kindness.
If you follow me on Facebook then you likely saw that Baby K (who, by the way, is no baby anymore!!!!) and I participated in 25 Random Acts of Christmas Kindness. We both really enjoyed our random acts and I hope to make it a point to do more during the year instead of waiting for the Christmas season. My favorite Random Act was this one here.

4.) Be more present.
Life gets in the way, distractions happen. Hence my need to take time off from blogging. It is my hope that in 2017 I will not be annoyed by what life throws my way, but rather I will take the time to enjoy this life I have. To be present. To not worry about my to-do list (say a prayer for this OCD/Type A mama on that one!). To thoroughly enjoy the people you see in the photos below and give them my all.

With that being said, I'm not going to stress myself out by blogging five days a week. I will blog regularly, but it will likely be more like two or three days a week. I feel this is the balance my family needs right now.
If you need daily updates (ha!), then follow along with me on instagram. I will definitely post there even if I'm not publishing a blog post.

Thank you so much for following along and for supporting Pursuit of Pink. I'm glad to see you again.

A HUGE thank you to Kristina Rose Photography for these amazing family photos.
